Country Strolls

Country Strolls (shorter)

This group has been functioning for more than 12 years and still we enjoy taking to the lanes and footpaths for our fortnightly jaunt, always being encouraged by the thought of a deserving cuppa at the conclusion, in a suitable hostelry of one kind or another.

Walks continue to take place every 2nd and 4th Friday in the month – distance approximately 3 miles. We always welcome newcomers.

Next walk:-

6th December: This walk starts from Needham Market Community Centre. Please park in the furtherest car park. Departing on the walk at 10.30am. It will be about 4.5 miles long and then we will go for our Christmas lunch at The Rampant Horse.
Final bookings have been taken but if anyone else would like to join us for the walk we will be very pleased to see you. It may be possible to order a lighter lunch – please let me know a.s.a.p. if you would like to do this.

Message from Andrea:
I need to emphasise the importance of letting the leaders know your intention of coming on any walk. With the greater numbers in the group we might encounter problems with seating at an eating establishment if there are more than, say, 18 of us.
We will all need to bear this in mind and think of possible solutions. I have a couple of ideas and would welcome more ideas from the group.
Within the U3A there are some groups which have divided into two or three. We should consider this option. We could still meet on the 1st and 3rd Fridays and have different locations and eating places.
In theory we could have a 4 mile group and a 6 miles group. All it needs is someone to come forward to co-ordinate or convene the new group.
With everyone taking a turn at leading a walk the work load is minimal for any convenor.

For all walks, please phone the nominated leader(s) to let them know you are coming.
